WE HERE NOW

We create performances for children and adults of all ages. Through our workshops, we explore interaction, improvisation and movement, creating new and playful ways for audiences to participate, experience and connect with one another.

WE HERE NOW is a three-year regional project focusing on participatory dance encounters and collective exploration, supported by the Swedish Arts Council.

WE HERE NOW is about meeting one another, learning from each other and exploring movement, as well as the significance of the place we are in. Through participatory cultural experiences and open workshops, Memory Wax seeks to deepen its artistic practice by encountering and including a wider range of experiences and perspectives.

What takes shape in these workshops emerges together with the group, and are shaped by the questions, experiences and impulses that arise throughout the process. Here, the process and the present moment are at the very heart of the work.

In a safe and welcoming atmosphere, we work with simple and accessible exercises that everyone can take part in. You are invited to explore your own movement material in collaboration with others. Movement improvisation opens up unexpected possibilities and new ways of meeting one another.

WE HERE NOW is built around three themes:

WE – the people who are in the room. Through playful collaborative exercises, we get to know one another and create a safe and trusting environment.

HERE – together, we explore the place we are in. How does the space affect us, and how do we affect the space?

NOW – we turn our attention towards interaction and spontaneity. What happens when we truly listen to the present moment? Where does the encounter take us, and what can we create together?

Does this sound interesting? Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. We would be happy to tell you more about our workshops and how they can be adapted to your specific needs.
